5 Minute Nomination Presentation Outline
Presentations should be simple and not overly formal. Speak from the heart - think “passion”, not “perfection”!
Although, you should be prepared to give pertinent information in your presentation and answer questions about the organization you are nominating. Here are some ideas of questions that have been asked in the past
What is the name of the organization?
What specific program or project will our donation support?
How will the funds be spent?
Describe your personal interactions with the organization or how you learned of the organization.
Be ready to answer questions from the group, for example:
- where is the organization located?
- does it have a charitable number?
- how many people benefit from the work they do?
- what other sources of funding do they receive?
- does the organization consist of volunteers or do they have paid staff?
- what is the cost to raise a dollar?
- have you visited the organization and seen for yourself what is going on and how it works?
- how long has the organization been serving the community?
- does the organization serve specifically Halton Hills or do they serve a wider area - if this is the case, then how can we be certain that our donation will stay in our community?
- are there other organizations that offer the same service that your organization does? How is yours different?
